  • Two questions, I am confused

    1. Its not logical to me so maybe somebody can explain me this:
    First I precalculate ir map with light cache for one frame and than I use load ir map for first bounce and for second I use none becouse all light information is in Ir map. The rendering time for one pal resolution rendering is around 10 min.
    Second what I do is I precalculate every 10 frame for 100 frames animation and I save ir map. Now when I load precalcualted map and render the same rendering like in first case my render time is 20 min and thats double than first time. Why is that when only diferent thing is that Ir map is biger now for animation than last time for just one frame, but its insignificant, just few more seconds to load it and than 10 min diference between two renderings. Does it have to be like that.

    2. Why is it when I render on one machine I get memory usage in task manager 1.6 Gb and when I use backburner for net rendering I see 2.1Gb memory usage in task manager.
    By the way slaves with no max opened have 1.3Gb memory usage.

      As far as the first question goes, the irradiance map contains a lot more samples, so longer rendering times can be expected. What are your irradiance map settings?
