  • saving a VRaymtl

I searched the forum for info, but could not get any results on how to save a VRaymtl in the library. If I try I find it back under 'Incompatible Materials". Any help greatly appreciated!

you have to have vray set as the renderer to open vray mats in the editor.

I always have VRay set as the renderer, yet I can not find a saved material back except under 'Incompatible'

thereĀ“s 3 renderers to specify...it has to be set as both renderer and material editor renderer

Thanks Thorsten. Max opens standard with VRay materials in the material editor, but maybe that's not what you're pointing at. Could you give me an instruction or hint on how to set what you mean?

wizard, when you load vray there is 2 more options below to use renders for material editos, if you uncheck the lock button then vray will be used for rendering, but in material editor it will be used scanline. You need to make sure both lines say vray as render, and material render.
