Notification of topic responses

A stupid, insignificant question, but why do I always receive (2) messages from Chaos when one of my topics has a response?

Well last time Vlado commented that it was part of the new phpbb that they are using ... bug or not it needs to be fixed.
None of the other phpbb forums i visit have this problem.

Its damn annoying.
