  • DR wireless?

Work are thinking of letting me have a dedicated render farm
    But our hub is full
We have a wireless network for laptops which I could use but it is only 50MB/sec (our cabled one is 100MB/sec)
    Using Viz 2006 (with 1.46.15)
    Any problems?

Sounds like a can of worms, not to mention slower. I think I would spend the money on a new switch instead of a bunch of wireless adapters.

Also remember that while your wireless is claiming that it is at 50mb, with no security you are probably more at a speed of 25mb. And, if you have wap security (which I would advice) it is more like 10mb... cause it has to encrypt all that data for DR as it is sending over the airwaves.

I kind of thought I was asking a stupid question.
A network is a network right?
          Anyway....
I found our old 16 port hub, which I can use, so will go down that route. I've got a feeling it will be slow though.

          Thanks for your replies
