  • Tone mapping

I was googling on this subject and found the following interesting links:

http://www.hdrsoft.com/examples.html You can download a trial version there of Photomatix Pro. I've tested it on hdr images from several sources. I can't get hdr renderings come out nicely yet though, does someone have any experience with it?

What also looks promissing is the following, click the first pdf to see what I mean.

The source code of the program that was used to create the tone mapped images in her paper is available for download...someone willing to dig into it??

    Hi Gijs,

yes I am just digging into tone mapping as well, for digital photography, hdri and 3d-imaging perposes. I tried Photomatix Pro with my own RAWs and I was - like you - not able to get nice looking results as l. meylan gets with retinex-based filtering.

Where did you find the software or code she used?

By the way the paper she wrote, is far from my knowledge about math, but however very interesting. What else did you dig out that you would share?

    regards
