DR and vraydummy60.max

"Start the vrayspawnerXX.exe program. It will automatically try to find the 3dsmax.exe file and start it in server mode. You should end up with 3dsmax minimized down in the task bar. It should have the title "vraydummy.max". If 3dsmax stays there alive without closing then you have the Render Server part working"

I've tried to use the DR but it's not working....every time when i start the spawner60 program the server mode open an untittle file.

I followed this references to setup my DR

Try saving an empty max file like - <<vraydummy60.max>> and be sure it is located in the 3dsmax root folder...

Thanks Candelero...the file is there, but the slave is not opening it
and i got the message that the server is failed.

(I'm using VIZ)

do the slaves need autorization code for Vray and VIZ?...What do I have to do with the Vray license?

I'm sorry for these question but it's the first time for me using DR

You don´t need additional licences on the serves. Simply install Max or VIZ in Demo Mode and that´s it. You also dont need vray licences for the servers. Simply follow the install instructions

BTW, do You have any older versions of MAX or VIZ installed on the same Slave-machines... ?

I have Viz 2005 with vray 1.46.15 and Viz 2006 with 1.47.xx(the latest)...I've had some problems with the maps in 2006 with 1.47.xx so I'm working mostly with 2005....I created two shortcuts for the spawners in these two versions and the vrayspawner.ini for everyone...when I work with 2005 in my client and I run the shortcut in my slave.

after several hours working on my DR I've found the problem...I read in another post that the problem is the vrayspawner.xml.

after rename an existing xml from backburner the vraydummy.max runs but still the server failed because there was a camera setting on the xml.......the solution is make another XML without cameras, scanline rendering and rename it...now my DR is working well.
