  • Vray Object properties help?

    Hi all,
In the help document, I cannot find the page about the object vray properties...(you know, matte, GI receive/generate, etc.)

    Where is it?

    thanks

    Heya giovanni,

In my case it's on a right click menu in my bottom left quad - you may need to use the customize user interface option to add it into your quad layout.

The main useful thing about it is the vray matte properties - if you make an objects alpha conribution -1 (top right corner) it will knock out objects behind it like the 3dsmax matte shadow material. If you also turn on the affect shadows tick box underneath you'll get shadows in your alpha that fall on your matte object - very useful if you make an object in vray, set up a ground plane that matches the ground in a photo, set the options as above and render - you'll get your vray object rendered with a contact shadow in the alpha channel that'll lay over your background.

thank you Joc, I do have the command under my quad menu.

I was talking about the Vray help document (online), I cannot find the help page for that vray property panel...

I usually get to it under "System" but it's actually on another page. Here's a quick link... http://www.spot3d.com/vray/help/VRay...l_settings.htm
        www.dpict3d.com - "That's a very nice rendering, Dave. I think you've improved a great deal." - HAL9000... At least I have one fan.
