  • VRLserver working with Zonealarm Security Suite 6?

About a year ago, I was having trouble with ZoneAlarm Security Suite blocking VRLServer and Vray wouldn't run. Since that time I've been using TrendMicro's software but I want to switch back to ZA.

Now it's in version 6, and Vray has been upped a few point releases. I'm wondering if anyone is running the two together happily. Keep in mind this is for the Suite, not just Zonealarm Firewall which I think worked okay in the first place.

Well the vrlserver.exe has nt really changed (at all) since the old R builds i think. So unless zone alarm has made some changes I would get your hopes up of it working.

But, as I havnt tried it im not sure, so just try it out and see how you go.

I had similar problem days ago...

Solution was: Giving FULL Access to Inet to the <3dsmax.exe> application.
Don't know whether it will help, at least you can give it a try...

Not sure about the suite but Im running the latest ZA 6.x Pro and no problems here.

Usually if I do have an issue then I go in to the programs menu in ZA and delete the program Im having a problem with, reboot and either let ZA detect the program or add it manually and reset the permissions and that usually takes care of it.

Thanks -- yeah, I remember letting 5.5 have all the permissions I could possibly give it -- and it still cut off VRLserver -- even when the firewall was turned off -- I had to uninstall it for Vray to work.

HOWEVER, I'm glad to report that I'm running ZA Sec Suite 6 and the VRLserver seems completely intact. ZA probably has changed something itnernally that prevents that problem with Vray.
