  • Camera Correction modifier

I use 1.09 and am having trouble with the camera correction modifier. It does not seem to work with Vray. Has anyone used it with success? is there another way to achieve a 2 point perspective?

    Hi,

Which version of Max are you using, as from 7 up have a camera correction build in.

If you use the plug-in, you must generate your irridiance map before applying the camera correction. Save the map, apply the plug-in, load map and all should work.

    Cheers

Thanks for your reply. I'm using VIZ 4 and using the correction modifier that it comes with. I tried what you suggested and it still doesn't work.

What plugin are you referring to?

        Ooops, thats a pitty.

Not sure if its still on the net, but there use to be a plug-in one could download for max as it didn't had the camera correction as Viz.

But I will have to go through my archive to get more info than this as I am not using it any more since Max got one build-in now.

I was able to locate a script called technical camera modifier. It seems to behave the same way (it doesn't work).

                Hi Arobbert,
camera correction worked ok for me with viz 4 and 1.09.
If i remember right I think you have to switch shade context compatibility either on or off (I can't remember which) in the system roll out.
                Worth a try I think

                Cheers

Darn, it was the MAX compatible Shade Context tick. I needed to turn it off. I never would have guessed that one. Thanks tdarcy

Percy, the problem was artifacts, white spots.

ahhh...ya if you had said that in the first place, i could have properly answered it. specificity is next to cleanliness, which is next to godliness...
