  • Who knows what these light fragments are?

hey, I can't even tell if this is a material or a render settings issue, but you can see in the linked image below that i'm getting light residue on some of my ceiling tiles. i don't know enough about subdivisions to figure out if that's the problem, but i'm hoping some of you will be able to point me in the right direction. i can post render settings if you think it's necessary. thanks in advance.

I just tried playing around, and the junk disappeared after I turned off Light Cache as my secondary GI engine. Can anyone look over my LC settings and see if they can see the problem? I think my images come out with better shading when I use both. Thanks.

After reading through as many posts as I could get through on GI, Irr Maps, and LC, I decided to precalculate my GI with Irr Map and LC, and then just use the calculated Irr Map for the actual renderings. I thought I had my settings right, but this linked image proves I screwed something up. I keep fiddling with the settings, but I could use some direction. Thanks in advance for any help (or construction criticism.) hell, i'd even take destructive criticism at this point...

Could you post a listing of all lights in the scene and the status of the max exposure control rollout and the Vray System settings?

no raytrace anything and absolutely no architectural materials (at least there had better not be...) i would do a print screen right now if the computer weren't crunching away on some IR Map calculations. As soon as I can, I will post shots of the exposure control, the light lister, and the Vray System settings. I know that I am only using standard and Vray lights (no photometrics,) and Max's exposure control should be off. Thanks for the responses!
