  • Another new website

We too redesigned our website recently. Just before Christmas, with a lot of blood, sweat, and tears, I launched www.KAADesignGroup.com.

We are a multidisciplinary design firm and previously our website didn't reflect that. Most of the website was devoted to architecture, landscape design was a tiny fraction hidden in the architecture portfolio, graphics had its own out-of-date and complete unrelated site, and interiors had nothing whatsoever. The new site brings all four disciplines up to the same level of prominence. A neat thing about the site is that its all running off a content management system, so that at any point the marketing people can change out content, create new sections, etc, all without consulting the web development team (me). Any changes that happen are automatically reflected in both the HTML and Flash versions of the site without any extra work.

I do too. But sometimes concesions have to be made in favor of design, and vice versa. It's an eternal struggle to find the best balance.

            Very nice site indeed Dynedain!!
I am always intrested in landscapes and natural renderings.
Just wondering your approach on some of the beautiful grasses and trees such as in the VIA ARRIBA views in the Landscape catagory? What are you using? Particles combined with ZFROG or OnyxTree models?
These are about as good as I have ever seen!

              Those are photos

The architecture portfolio shows off the work of the architecture studios.
The landscape portfolio shows off the work of the landscape design studio.
The graphics portfolio shows off the work of the graphic design studio (including 3D modeling, websites, and branding/identity/logo stuff).
The interiors portfolio shows off the work of the interior design studio.

              But thanks for the compliment!

VIA ARRIBA...a photo?....Hmm wierd tree indeed!!I have seen renderings as good as those using Maya...Especially the Grasses on the one photo in that group.
Shoot for renderings like those in depicted in your landscape photo portfolio!!

It is an interesting tree, and I believe the photo was shot with fairly slow film so the wind blowing caused that wonderful impresionist affect.
