  • Proxy question

does using proxy elements speed up rendering or is it only to render otherwise unrenderable scenes which Max couldn't cope with?
I ask because I thought it would speed up render but am getting a slower performance with a test scene
Should I not bother use only for speed improvements or is it because it's a bad test case or bad settings?

    Thanks,
    Richard

nope. not to speed up. its as you say. it allows you to handle scenes that wouldnt usually be possible

da elf dont be so hasty to quote that speed is not a factor...
        for example
my phone t610 model took about 3 minutes just to load into memory and took up to 2.5 gb of ram on render time. The actual rendering of it was fast.
But when I converted it to vray proxy, it loaded into memory lightining fast. So there you go.
