  • Must have textures

    Hi all,
    another must have post.

For years I was using max native textures, and just few I made. Recently I was browsing this forum and decided to buy some textures. Have anybody got experiance with textures from 3dtotal.com - Total Textures, ore some other library for that matter?

    Regards
    Srdjan

I can recommend the Textures from http://www.arroway.de/en/index.html
very good high res textures. We got some from 3dtotal and they are not bad too, just dont waste your money on the tree textures from 3dtotal, they suck

EDIT: Evermotion's Wood4Ever is also quite nice...

        Hi Olli,
        thanx for responding so quickly!

I had in mind buying CD No1-General Textures, CD No6- Clean Textures and CD No10 - Trees and Plants, but you said that they are not good; what about other two?
I have been to see www.arroway.de , looks professional and they are supplying on DVD, and as well twice as expencive too. Do they have varaety, like walls, grass, earth, concrete, metal etc on one DVD or how does it go?

Which ones you got, and, ofcorse happy with

        Are they compatible with Vray?

        Regards

          Thanx Focusing,
Youv'e been faster than me, so I haven't seen you post.

Can you maybe coment my previous post? Reason, I have seen only bricks, concrete and some metal, not very big varayety from Arrow, I could be wrong, I hope 'coz they look very good!
Do I have to buy them all or they got some "starter" Library

                Repenseks,
Arroway still doesn’t have any textures of plants/ground/trees. But there is one think that makes their textures worth buying, that is the high-resolution and when they say they’re seamless – they’re really seamless (unlike some other textures cds that you can find on sale).

The textures you can find on Arroway texture DVD’s are:
bricks & tiles, floor, surfaces, panel formed surfaces, wall surfaces, misc, facade, floor, lobby, patio, plaza, Boards / Wood ,Bricks / Walls, Concrete, Metal, Pavement, Plaster, Stone, Tiles, Misc.

Have a look at the example renders on their webpage.

I hope they send me the next DVD for free, after this publicity!

                  Hi gadzooks,
I think I will get two of 3d total cd's to start with, also agree with you that Arroway look superb

                  Hi plastic_,
I have just downloaded your tree maker, did not install yet, but looks interesting well done!

                  Hi Focusing,
I also thing you deserved free DVD from them for advertising
I beleive that quality is uncompromising, but for starter, I guess 3dtotal got more different ones, and maybee is better to get if you got nothing at all...

hate to be a wet blanket, but the general forum should pertain directly to vray. lets keep this indirect stuff in the off-topic forum please

hmm, didnt got any email notification...
about the other 2 total textre cd's, they are ok, the problem with the tree cd is, that the alpha map of those are pretty bad and they should have spent some more time in photoshop to make the textures a bit more decent. if you dont mind spending some time to adjust those textures in ps then buy the cd...
