  • Is FOV scriptable????

Not sure if everyone has seen this script or not.....very cool!!!

    http://www.3idee.nl/3d/html/layout.php

I was just wondering if Vray FOV settings could mimic the ones in the script (ie. MAX cameras). That would be really cool considering you could network render multiple and different camera views all in one network render job. let me know if i have to clarify this....though i think someone else mentioned this as a wish list item.

    VRay FoV?
You mean in the render settings under the "Camera" section?
And it'd have to match what?

The script will basically cycle through all the cameras in your scene and render them out as if they were frames in a sequence. The script also renders whatever the camera settings are for each camera....whereas Vray will force the camera to be rendered with whatever FOV is in the Vray rollout....as opposed to what the FOV is on the camera in MAX.

So i was wondering if there was a way for Vray to take the FOV from the camera when it is rendering it.....

That should happen only if you choose it, ticking the box and setting a FoV...

Am i missing something important, here?

Besides, max 7.5+ has a batch render command/utility which allows for a lot greater freedom, allowing you to set scene states and presets along with the camera to render from.
Render presets work with vray's render parameters as well, so it should be fairly straightforward, even if you use VRay's camera settings, to do what you want.
