Best way to approach and exterior to interior animation -
Best way to approach and exterior to interior animation -
Client wants to walk around the building and then go in and walk around the inside - What is the most efficient way to set this scene up for an animation - Thanks guys
calculate your lighting for exterior with about 60 frame (2 seconds) worth of it inside. then reset lighting for interior then calculate from 2 seconds outside to inside. then rendering you do a disolve. that seems the most natural way i would do it. i wouldnt try to force the lighting of both interior and exterior to be the same

I agree with da_elf: brute force, one way or another is probably quicker to set up, but might prove overkill in the long haul...
Best way is a crossfade between exterior and interior: you could use post to simulate eye adaptation to the darker inside, hence covering any differences, and gaining in realism.
not too hard to setup really. just set your animation ranges and do your pre-calculations for each. keep a door open so you dont need to single frame render one opening
