  • Irmap and lightcache

I am sure this has been covered before, but I can't seem to find it. I am doing a rendering with not animated parts. I was going to save an IRMAP using the every 10th frame method - i.e. don't render each frame. I wanted to use lightcache for the secondary bounce. Do I turn off the light cache when I am calculating the primary bounce to save my IRMAP. Can I calculate the light cache in a similar way ?

Thanks in advance for you help.

Turn on lightcache when you do the irrmap calcs.

Then, after you've saved the irrmap, you can turn off secondary bounce altogether and use the saved irrmap for the primary bounce.

A different technique is outlined in the animation walkthrough tutorial.
