I'm thinking about upgrading my network to a gigabyte. It seems like this would speed up DR. Has anyone done this and if so did you notice a difference?

    Yes, and Yes.

It also speeds up normal backburner renders. This is because it is quicker to transfer the file to each server and to save the image every time.

That isn't a huge difference, but was still noticeable.

Make the change - we did it last year and it works excellently. All files are on one machine and we can use this system for all work including huge photoshop files.

I think that's what most people are doing.

The downside is when using network paths the Asset manager is useless.
