  • server connection limitation

I know this has been covered before but I can’t seem to get it to work.

I recently added some nodes to my network. My total number is 11. I use vray 1.09. I store my irradiance maps and textures on one computer (XP pro sp1). I own two seats of Vray. Some of the nodes start to drop textures and irradiance maps as soon as I add the 11th node. All of the nodes are XP pro sp2. I know there is a limitation of 10 connections for XP pro. Do I need to switch to a different OS for my server to get more connections so all my nodes will see the maps? I tried the registry edit from some of the earlier posts and it didn’t work.

Is it possible that this is the 10 node limit per vray seat? I own two seats can they both be used on one machine to give a total of 20 nodes?

sounds like you are running into the windows connection limit

you could either switch to a windows server os or to linux + samba (=cheaper) for storing the maps

are you using backburner? the manager should also run on a machine without the connection limit - i have heard from several sources that it is possible to run the manager using wine (windows emulation) under linux, too - getting around the conn. limit

from what i know, there is no direct enforced node limit inside vray

there is a connection limit hack for windows on the net.
it didnt work on my x64 pcs but should work on normal windows.
      Reflect, repent and reboot.
      Order shall return.

We had the same problem at work and switched to linux with samba server. It works perfectly, no problem.
