Can someone explain the "time independent" specifically the advantages/disadvantages. The doc's explane what it is for, but for animation why would you have this checked at all? and for that matter why would you for a still.

For a still it doesnt really matter at all. For an animation it may reduce time-dependant artifacts (local flickering in sampled areas like moblur, gi, glossys etc). As none-moving noise sometimes is more appearant then random noise it might be helpful to turn it off for anims...at least that´s what i THINK it does lol
