  • Glossy reflections & LC

    Hello,
I have a scene with a lot of glossy reflections.

The frames take a long time to render, so I'm searching for a way to render them quickly (....!!!)

I can't use interpolated reflections because it's a walk trough.

I'm trying with 'use light cache for glossy rays' option, but I can't understand how it work! Using it I get totally black surfaces (instead of the reflections).

Question 1) does this option can speed up the rendering of glossy ref?
Question 2) where can I find a good tutorial for LC (or something to understand how to use it)?

    Thank-you so much...!!!

    Hi Daniele_ve,

Regarding question 2: have you looked at the Vray walkthrough tutorial? Here's the link:

    http://www.spot3d.com/vray/help/VRay...ials_imap2.htm

As for the use light light cache for glossy rays option, the manual also says this:
Use light cache for glossy rays - if this option is on, the light cache will be used to compute lighting for glossy rays as well, in addition to normal GI rays. This can speed up rendering of scenes with glossy reflections quite a lot

Not sure why you are getting black surfaces, though. Perhaps someone else has had this problem.

    Hope that helps,
    ~e
