Just to clarify, if I tick 'Do not render' in the Global switches, will Vray still calculated ALL lighting and keep it in memory for you to save the maps manually or automatically?

Also, If I start a calculation with a Region or Crop selected, will it calculate the maps for the whole image and render that chosen section, or will it just calculate that section?

For the 1st question - YES. they would be calculated, so that you can save them either manually or automatically.

For the 2nd question - NO. V-Ray will calc only those areas.

I might be wrong but I think i remembered that vray 1.09 rendered the irr calc for the whole frame when using crop.
        It was a bit annoying..
