How would this compare to just sending to BB with strips and each strip calculating the maps?
hum...i suppose u can get away with that...but i d rather calculate the GI in one step...so that in the end when stiching the frames not to find out that the GI solution is slightly diferent in one strip.....
or...i remember vlado metioning something about sending DR jobs to the BB....?maybe i m just confusing things....
You'll probably find that Windows XP has a 10 connection limit in terms of network connections. I believe that XP SP1 has a registry workaround, however you can't use this workaround for SP2.
Just Microsoft's way of making you buy the server edition (You can pick up SBS2000 cheap on ebay...)
question-
When rendering a large image, would there be a speed benefit from -
Sending a render to BB with render final image ticked off just to calculate the IR and LC maps, and saving them on completion.
Then send the image to BB with strip rendering using these pre calculated maps.
I guess the only problem is the 2nd render can't begin until the 1st is complete. I'd like to send them and go home for the evening, any ideas?

I've not tried this just wanted to test the logic on you all
Thanks,
Richard
I tried to calculate IR first bounce and QMC second bounce using Backburner and strips with "don't render final image" box checked. It seemed to render fine until the assemble phase where it kept giving me errors. A junk IR map was written out. Has anyone successfully used BB and strips to create the IR map?
