I have a mesh that looks great with the procedural displacements I have on it, but it takes forever to render. Is it possible to get a normal map from VRay Displacement?
No, but if you set the Edge length parameter for the displacement to a very large value, V-Ray will calculate the surface normals based on the procedural texture, while keeping the original geometry. This is very close to what you would get with normal mapping, although it may still be a tad slower.
