  • image not rendering

ok, i have a slight emergency...

everything was working fine, but now my image won't render. it calculates the lightcache, and the irradiance map, then it stops.

i do not have the 'don't render final image' ticked. i have tried checking it, and unchecking it. both yield the same result.

i have a deadline looming tomorrow, and really need to send theimages tonight. any help is appreciated.

i think i fixed it. i enabled default scanline and rendered the image. then i re-enabled vray, and it seems to be rendering the image. i only need to input my irradiance, lightcache, and AA settings, etc. again.

This may also happen if you have accidentally set the light cache mode to progressive path tracing.

old thread, but this is happening to me, too!, Light Cache and prepass builds fine, but then it stops.

it seems that if I save a raw file and rename the extension to exr something breaks and my image doesn't render. If I rename to a hdr everything works. I have another question... if I save a raw do I need to save it on my shared drive or can I save it locally? Is it saving the VFB? It seems that all the slaves are contributing tho the VFB so if the data is being displayed in the VFB then I should be able to same the raw locally.

restting vray or merging to clean scene should fix the problem.

I tried resetting vray, but it still wouldn't render. renaming to an HDR did it for me.

I figured it out after reading my vray log. When saving to an exr you have to have your buckets fixed h/w.
