Caustics stored in LC?

maybe a dump question, but are caustics stored in LC?
i've calculated caustics and LC, but want to render without caustics.

so i've saved LC, turned off caustics. can i use the LC?

depends i guess, GI caustics or photon caustics? photon caustics are stored separately.
