  • Max Question

    Hi,

Can someone tell me the best way to shift+drag an editable poly "edge" a specific distance (eg 100mm).

    Thanks

    shift clone in one direction
snap back to orignal position (possibly using vertex snap)
numeric entry to move it to the desired position

at least that's what i do if i need accuracy (other than moving very slowly and looking at the status bar at the bottom)

Same here. Of course if the specific distance is to another piece of geometry you can use snaps. I live and die by the vertex snap.

                2.5 - my favorite snap, and the F5 - F8.
