  • Input gamma on all machines ?

Im using backburner to render out an animation. My bitmap gamma input is set to 2.2. My question is do all machines on the farm need the bitmap gamma input set to 2.2 ?
    Thanks,
    Mike

In the max gamma area you can tell it to save the gamma state with the max file. So that when all the slaves open the max file they will take on the exact same settings as you have it on your machine.

The added realism is awesome. The LWF thread has been the best thing
for me. I really believe it takes rendering in Vray to the next level. My
new x2 loves it also. I cant believe the speed increase between the x2
                and LWF.
                VRAY RULES !!!! (I guess Im a fanboy after all :P )

                    BTW.....

Well, I won't say S*****PH since there is always a chance for something to go wrong, but we are trying hard...

                    Best regards,
                    Vlado

Given what I have seen of the new builds and how far they have gone/come/whatever I would say that S*****PH is certainly a plausible option for something

I just had a problem with my server nodes rendering different gamma/luts then my workstations last night and was pulling my hair out. I'm glad to hear that you can force the gamma settings into the file. I assume it's the "Load Enable State with MAX files" checkbox?

BTW mmikee, which particular workflow have you adapted for your LWF? I guess I mean are you adjusting the system gamma/lut acroosed the board or are you using floating point rom the VFB and exposure controls or...

I prefer floating point. I find it more flexible for me personally. For stills
I use the exposure controls in CS2.
Now, I cant believe I ever used exponential color mapping. Im not
knocking any one elses workflow, but for me there is no other way to
render. With the correct gamma on the bitmaps comming in I havent
had the "LWF washout" problems. I also have not had any problems
                            with the Color Correct plug.
I kept seeing alot of beautiful interior lighting in other peoples renders, and I just could not achieve it in my old work flow. LWF has actually made
                            lighting/rendering alot easier for me.

                            Regards,
                            Mike

If you don't mind my asking, what is your LWF solution for Animation work?
