  • light cache for glossy rays?

would it, or would it not be a good idea to use this option when rendering animations with heavy use of glossy reflections?

I have noticed a decrease in render time when using the lightcache for glossy rays option (on single frames of an animation), but it also seems to change the reflections just a bit. I haven't had time to do extensive tests on an animation yet, is there common knowledge about this option? Will it work fine on a render farm?

i tried it on an animation with precalculated lightcache/irradiance map and it worked.

next try will be with moving object animations.
      Reflect, repent and reboot.
      Order shall return.

Yep, works well 'if' you precalc and save the light cache.

ah, well that's not gonna work for what I need right now, to many things moving around aside from the camera.

          Thanks for the replies!
