Anyone using GroundWiz and VRay proxies?

I've tried using GroundWiz with trees that are converted to VRay proxy objects. However, they are not being populated. I was wondering if anyone tried that and had sucess with it?

(Using trees without proxies is fine...but was hoping for more trees begin possible with proxies.)

You could try advanced painter aswell - only I think it doesn't do random scale, but it's quite nice.
