  • Vray Sun and Sky

just a small little tiny question......

This new fandangled thing with 1.5 Am I to assume that if I have a building with windows and perhaps a skylight.....and I want to render an interior shot of the room.....The Sun and sky will be all I need to use to get that warm fuzzy interior render feeling. Thanx

    yeah...why not.
but i'd suggest linear workflow with it. otherwise the sky seems too dark and heavy.

also you should use the vray physical camera, to get correct exposure.

i prefer not to use it, because the perspective correction modifier doesn't work with it, the vray camera replacement no 'guess/auto' button,
and i like to be flexible with rendering, i don't want to place a camera for every test render.

instead i found a good way is to reduce the sun/sky multiplier to 0.01, it looks fine that way, without color mapping.
for interiors you may still use color mapping, if it's too dark.

yeah, what plastic said is accurate....you could go either way with the whole camera business. Here's a quickie I made with the demo - sun/sky + physical camera. I'm no photographer, so it took me a little digging to find some decent settings for the camera.

wiki's got a good section on photography if you need help with that stuff
