  • problems with rQMC

    I am rendering a 1.47 scene in 1.5 rcs

The setting in 1.47 for the noise threshold was 0.002, so I changed the noise threshold to 0.01 in 1.5 rc2. I can't achieve the same result without the render taking ages. So I looked at the vray help index:

"This is now corrected and increasing the Max subdivs for the Adaptive rQMC image sampler keeps the same noise level without modifications to the Noise threshold. This should be kept in mind when working with older scenes where the Noise threshold was reduced - they might render slower, although the noise level will be much less. To reduce the render times again, you should increase the Noise threshold or override it by unchecking the Use rQMC sampler thresh. option in the Adaptive rQMC image sampler rollout"

I can't find the "Max Subdivs" option or the "Use rQMC sampler thrash option"

Little confused here, can someone help me out?

    cheers

p.s: VRayGIMtl* link doesn't work in the vray help index

Yes, what you are looking for is in the "Adaptive rQMC image sampler" rollout. This rollout is only available if you have your AA image sampler is set to Adaptive QMC.
