  • Dongle Tip

    Hi Everyone,

Just thought I would share a little tip with the use of the Dongle which will be sent to you all soon.

When you get it, invest in a usb extension cable (only has to be short).
Use this to plug your dongle into instead of plugging the dongle directly into the usb port because this will cause wear over time and your dongle may also be prone to simply things like breaking from accidentally kicking it (if PC is on the floor and dongle is in the front panel) etc.

Dongle::: {---------USB EXTENSION------ } PC usb port

This has helped me avoid any probs with my other dongles...
And if you dont believe me look up "Dongle wear and tear" on google.

    Anyway small but useful tip.

    Cheers.

So you're saying I should make my dongle dangle...

Just realised what the topic title is now!

The tip of my dongle is dangling slightly to the left!
              Kind Regards,

                That sounds like it hurts...

My biggest concern is that some ass-clown in my office will see the USB dongle, think its a memory stick, steal it, and when it doesn't hold data, throw it away.

I think the point is good: Always protect your dongle!. Don't assume that your dongle is safe just because it's your only dongle or its your first dongle. The risks of being unprotected are pretty severe. Lets face it in this day and age who will service your dongle? If you don't care for your dongle who will?

If I had one of those, my wife would take it and never return it, saying "I dont take good enough care of my dongle, and she can put it to better use anyways."
