    Hello-

I am trying to get move my VRAY licence to a different computer-
What steps must I take to accomplish this-

    Thanks-

A: You cant "move" a liscence. you need to install it on the new computer then get a new authorisation code

B: this is why i love the dongle. i can put it on any computer

As you shouldn't...Touching other's dongles is strictly prohibited...

I guess my timing here can get me into hot water with some of the more dongle sensitive- Oh well... no hard feelings-

All I'm trying to do is get Vray installed on a different computer- I don't have a pressing need for the new version as I am not planning on doing motion blur on spilled liquids (sounds cool though if I knew how) or other advanced techniques.

How was this handled before the new version of VRAY was released- Was it still with a dongle? If not, does that method still exist or is it all being changed to the dongle system-
The dongle sounds like a simple solution but may take some time getting a hold of one with the current strain on the current dongle market -

Are you picking up what I'm putting down?

                      Ok, you have 2 options.

                      1. Stick with 1.47.03 and either leave your other computer running and run the vrlserver on it and then tell the new computer to look to the old computer to get the vray livence. Or if you not going to be using the old computer you need to do what Da_Elf said and install vray on the new computer run the vrlserver and request a new auth code via sendin an email to the lads at chaosgroup with the info that vrlserver gives you. (could take a day or so to get a reply)

                      2. Install the new RC2 and either use a dongle (which you may not have yet) or use the dll that was sent around to act as a virtual dongle. See thread below for more info
