  • Small Script Tools Update for the RC2

    http://rapidshare.de/files/30617627/vrswitcher.mse.html

The vray switcher tool (sets renderer and materials in mateditor to vray)

    http://rapidshare.de/files/30617766/...lator.mse.html

The good old LC samples calculator, to choose quality of PPT renders in a similar way to maxwell (with a shading rate per pixel, rather than a straight subdivs number)

    Hope you enjoy!

    Lele

EDIT: just because it seems most people rarely read past the first post (or really really hate the idea of the LC calc to be a macroscript...) i'm relinking the new LC calc boundable to a shortcut here as well...

    Nice work mate.

Are these just the usual "run when needed" scripts?

This is a rewritten version, which is able to refresh itself as one changes the rendersize.
Execute the script, then thrash or archive it.
The command is found in the usual place ("VRay" category) and can be bound to shortcuts, menubars, or quadmenus.

Bear in mind the shading rate has any real sense only in unbiased PPT mode (for the script, that is) or, in other words, with sample size (in pixels) set to 1.0 in the script (or sample size 0.0 in the vray panel).
Under these conditions it will predict what the final shading rate will be in VRay, hence helping to achieve consistent results despite image size (at the expense of time, of course ).
The sample size in pixels, though, comes in handy also with the LC, aiding choosing in a straightforward way (ie. pixels instead of a multiplier) what the sample size will be on the image.
          Personal preference, of course

Lemme know if it has bugs

Lele, thank you for creating these and making them available.

I have a question which will make my ignorance of maxscripts painfully obvious, but is there a reasonably easy way to add the vrswitcher.mse to the toolbar as I was able to do with your previous '.ms' versions?

                  Thanks again,

                    not the .mse.
encrypted code works oddly or not at all with that stuff.
I am thinking of a workaround to that just in these days, i'll update you as soon i found it.
For now, you can add it to your "scripts\startup" folder, to have it run on max start.
Which is incidentally where it'd be advisable to use it

Ahh. At least I can stop trying to figure out how to make it work as a button

Launching on startup will do fine.

                      Thanks!
