  • Frame Stamp: %camera

I have been trying to use the frame stamp %camera but to no avail. I am rendering a named camera viewport in the VFB. The stamp just shows the word camera in the position of the rendered stamp. Can anyone clarify. Thanks.

I dont think there was such a frame stamp.

Press the little % symbol at the bottom of the vrayframebuffer to see what variables are available.

The help files show %camera frame stamp but the % button in the VFB doesn't.

Where abouts in the help files does it mention that?

I had a quick look on the spot3d helpfile and couldnt see any mention to the %camera stamp.

It is in the help files that shipped with VRay Adv. 1.5RC2. Here is the link for spot3d:

Ahh yes. I see.. hmmm was looking in the wrong spot.. haha

I guess its broken, I tested with normal cameras and vray cameras. ANd it just shows camera like you said, vray seems to think that %camera command doesnt exist.

Actually it works in the 3dsmax VFB, but not in the V-Ray VFB. It will be corrected for the next RC, thanks for the pointer.

              Best regards,

                    It'd be nice!
                    Second this!

Have in mind, too, that the next release of the vray rendertime info tool will include the camera parameters as well, in some form or the other, and possibly will dump to a logfile.

I prepared a quick hack to allow you to pick a viewport with the mouse, and hit a keystroke to add the Active Camera name to the frame stamp.
Still better than figuring it by hand.

                      it can be found here:
                      http://www.scriptspot.com/lele/camera_adder.ms

Macroscript: execute, and then go find the new command ready to be bound to a shortcut into "Customize -> customize user interface... -> mainUI -> VRay"

                      Hope it eases the wait
