      Nice one..

On "My Road Show" the had a HP Workstation with a 2 x Dual Core Duo (so 4 buckets) and 8 GB of ram with FireGl 7300, the one with 512MB Ram on it not the one with 1GB. But overall it was pretty cool.

cool. did they show at any time, the task manager showing memory consumption, and if so, how high did they send it? No idea what OS they were running?

They showed on an old Dell laptop, nothing fancy but viewport performance was very good. Also new Mental Ray is fast and very easy to use

Tom : Definetly viewport is much faster with Direct X only , looks like discreet dumped OpenGL

They used XP. They said Vista is better, just because of some administration right issues of XP.

They stated that 64 bit Max 9 is not faster than 32 bit but has better memory management...

Should 3dsmax plugins be recompiled for 64bit version so that having a 64bit 3dsmax and 32bit vray would be like having 32bit 3dsmax & 32bit vray?
