  • Vray 1.5 and Xfrog plants with uvw error ...

    Hi,

I am trying to render a single xfrog plant with vray. It does render it but i get millions of warnings of Invalid texture coordinates (UVW 0,15416.... ) I am just rendering a single plant. Now I am thinking of having multiple plant in my scene does this gonna cause a problem or is there a way to remove this error?

    cheers

assigning a UVW map to them corrects the issue, as well as scripting a tool that iterates through TVerts in a mesh and sets their W channel coordinates to 0 rather than to -#inf or whatever it comes in as.

The latter is a LOT slower than doing it by hand with a UVWUnwrapper, btw.

    Lele

p.s.: make sure you lower the logging level of vray, or turn off the log in the C drive, unless you like multiple-GB textfiles

also, just grabbing the different filetype off the CD works, I forget exactly, but I think using the .max off the CD gives the errors but using the xfr importer doesn't, or vice versa, but there was one version that worked without having to do anything to the model.
