  • glass for my car

can't seem to get the glass right. What are good material settings for glass.

I have to ior set to 1.6. when I look form theback of the car get good reflections off the side windows but the back window does not let me see much and even seems to magnify the cars interior.
the iamge is below. it may seem cut up because it'r a region render in the vray buffer of tow renderings ooverlayed, but just look at the rear and side glass.

Give the glass thickness, just slap a shell modifier and you should be good.

yep, one sided glass will do that to ya.
It treas the whole inside of the car as one big block of glass.

So do what RErender said and you should be all set.

p.s. Make sure you have affect shadows ticked in your glass material

the other thing i used to do was to simply put IOR at 1.001 for refraction and usually i like putting my reflection IOR at 1.8 or even 2 sometimes. its not physical realistic glass but whatever gets the job done
