  • need some help with a tricky scene

    hey guys,

first off, hi, i'm rob, been lurking here for a while, and now have a full version of vray, so here i am

now for the problem, I'm working on a scene wich consists of an reflective object, lighted by and reflecting a hdri. no problem there, but now I want a reflective plane, wich only reflects the object, not the hdri (it has to be a clean white enviroment).
so any ideas on how I could achieve something like this..?
oh btw, this has to be animated aswell.. so no cheating in photoshop sadly

    thanks in advance,

    rob

maybe use the enviroment slot to reflect the hdri on the object(in the material), and not the override slot in the rendersettings.. ?

ok, I solved it by using standard materials on the object, with the hdri map in the reflection slot. and using the hdri for lighting the scene.
      so it works
thanks aphex79 for pointing me in the right direction

what sphex79 said would allow you to continue using a vray material on your object
