Could anyone confirm if there will be inconsistences between renderings from the 64bit version against the 32bit version?

4 of our render nodes are 64bit but the rest, including our workstations are only 32bit. I don't want flickering in our animation or bad stripes in our strip rendering or botched buckets in our DR.
                              Kind Regards,
                              Richard Birket

We cannot guarantee anything in that regard. The compilers will typically produce slightly different floating-point code between platforms. E.g. on 32-bit platforms the code uses 80-bit floating point calculations for intermediate results; on 64-bit platforms the generated code uses 64 bits and sometimes even 32 bits for intermediate calculations, even though the 64-bit processors do support the 80-bit floating point calculations too. Actually this was one of the reasons for the delay of rc3 - some calculations were carried out at lower precision than we were expecting and this lead to artifacts in the rendering, which we did not discover until some of the final tests.

                                Best regards,
