  • VRay shadows pass in renderelements if cast on matte

I can't get VRay shadows pass if shadows are cast on matte object! There's no shadow absolutely!!!

Maybe I'm doing smth wrong ?
I just can't seem to trust myself
So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?

If you are using a dome light stored with irrmap you need to lower the gi amount in the matte settings.

I'm not using domelight or any vraylight! Plain target direct with VRay shadows on.

That will not work as the matte material/object does its own lighting calculations and bypasses the regular V-Ray lighting pipeline. I'll make a note to implement this.
