  • anisotropy question

What I've noticed for a long time, but more so recently, is that anisotropic materials do not stretch reflections straight up and down or across, but rather it stretches them in a curving direction. Is there any way to correct this and not have curving reflections?

Try using ward shading mode. Then anisotropy
    will work just fine.

I have tried ward too. No such luck. I am rendering a very large plane that I am trying to get anistropic reflections from. Either way I try it they keep getting curved.

I think I remember reading that you have to use UVW mapping to tell VRay which direction you want the anisotropy to affect.

        Not sure though...
