    Just wondering ...is it not possible to duplicate the vray frame buffer as you would do for the max frame buffer.

    Cheers

    There is a button on the V-Ray VFB toolbar to clone the currently visible render channel to a 3dsmax VFB. There is no way to duplicate it to another V-Ray frame buffer.

    Best regards,

      Unfortunately cloning to the max frame buffer when using lwf gives that washed out look.
      Thanks anyway.

        That is happening if you have the MAX Gamma set to 2.2 and the Color mapping gamma set also to 2.2.
        Remember that the VFB is ignoring the MAX Gamma, so you can do some of the followings:

        (1) MAX Gamma set to 2.2 / Leave the CM gamma to 1.0 - use the sRGB button in the VFB to view the result. When you clone the VFB to MFB it will take the MAX Gamma and you have to see them equal.

        (2) MAX Gamma set to 1.0 / CM Gamma set to 2.2 - don't use the sRGB.
        Cloning will give identical results in both VFB and MFB.

        * VFB = V-Ray Frame Buffer
        * MFB = MAX Frame Buffer
