  • Using WrapperMaterial for Illumination

    http://www.cgvisions.com/temp/materi...er_trouble.jpg

Still using 1.47.03 (I know, my ears are burning) and MAX 8

The attached image shows the visual issues I'm facing when using the material as a GI emitting light source. I applied the material to the top edge of the crown moulding to up wash onto the tray ceiling. Using LC/LC at around 2000 samples when rendering this. Should I avoid using materials like this and place a bunch of thin vray lights up there instead or...?

Thanks for any help in advance - Dave

try using IR/LC or QMC/LC as your GI methods, as this looks like the LC samples to me.

Do you have 'use lightcache for glossies' enabled?

see this post, but i'm afraid the images have been removed:

yes, those are your LC samples. Set the size lower, and use some filtering if you insist rendering this with LC/LC - a fixed filter.
