      Random pattern, or specific pattern?

If it's random, you can create a blend material, using 2 different sub-materials, each with a tiles map with the color you want. Then use the same tiles map in the blend slot, and make that tiles map just black & white.

if you want more control try beldens brick software. I think they are one of the best resources for masonry information.
(they have a masonry designer, and a paver designer, cool software)

Adding to that, I should mention that Patomac Valley Brick, ACME Brick, and Beldon Brick all use the same magnificant Brick designer tool and I agree, I find no reason to use anything else other then their bricks for brick work anymore. You can get 6000+ pixels of resolution out of very large tileable areas, have the ability to color shift each individual brick, and get access to any type of stacking bond, soldiers and rowlock courses also - extremly flexable.

Now if we can just get Roofing, Stone, and Siding manufacturers to create something similar...

Mike, did you try doing the blend material that I suggested? I am pretty confident you can get a good result with that.
