Got my Vistas 64 bits Open licences today..installed easily...photoshop etc.
But Max9 DOES NOT WORK in Vista
    Browsing Autodesk foruns....
    Any workarrounds?
    I am hopping for a MaxSp1..
    Best regards,

i thought there was an equation out there that summed it all up

    MSV + Max9 = no work
note this equation is valid when MSV = microsoft vista and also when MSV = shit which more or less is all the time.

Yap. Won't work. Bit confusin'. But I don't like Vista at all. Using server 2k3 x64 - happy
I just can't seem to trust myself
So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?

Vlado has sucessfully run max9 with Vista RC1, although he had to use OpenGL as Directx was acting odd.

Well, maybe it was a standalone version

            Thats.... what can I say.
Even a Mac can run 3dMax these days.
            Back to WinXP....

I've had Max running on Vista with DirectX without too many problems.
First I had to disable Aero - this caused directX viewport issues.
Second, I had to run Max as an administrator (if I remember correctly, you right click on the Max shortcut and select run as administrator)

The above worked for me although I had other issues with Vista so I've since returned to Win XP Pro.

You can buy a Mac that runs with Intel processors, make a dual boot and run 3dmax ( there is also a few benchs in the forum ).
And I can not (so far) run Max9 64bits on a new windows OS
