  • 1.5 Render Servers WIBU Key

    Hi

    I am trying to install 1.5 on a render server and get to opening up the VRay Licence Server which says the following;

    'Codemeter or WIBU Key runtime system is not installed'. The spot3d site says that I need to download and install manually the WIBU run-time components from http://wibu.com but, I cannot find any thing like this on their site.

    Has anyone encountered this before?

    Thanks

    Ok, from what I have read, I don't need the WIBU as I don't have a dongle.

    So, the problem is that when I go to net render, the server/slave comes up with 'Could Not Obtain Licence'.

    For the slave to see the VRFL Server file on the main machine - is there a problem if the drive that it is on is not shared ?

      Should the slave Licence server information look like this below;

      Licence Server : localhost
      Connection Port: 30304

      This has got me so confused - why is it so bloody difficult ?

        With RC3, for the render slaves, you have two options:

        1. Choose "software license"; that's all you need to do (I'd recommend this option for now);

        2. Choose "hardware license"; after installation is complete, go to "Start Menu > Chaos Group > V-Ray for 3dsmax > Licensing > Administration > Change V-Ray client settings" and enter the name of the machine which has the vrlservice with the dongle running.

        For RC4, we have expanded the installation to specifically include "Workstation" and "Render slave" options that will make this process quite a bit easier.

        Best regards,

          Thanks for that Vlado.

          I haven't received our dongles yet - I submitted a request for them some time ago but have heard nothing since. How do I go about getting them ?
