large area grass?

Does anyone knows how to create this kind of nice looking large area grass?

Maybe there is some texture floating around or something.It would be grate if also on closeups it would look nice.

Not sure how it was done in this case, but DaForce posted a nice collection of grass textures a while back. To keep out warezmonkeys they are only available upon request..

It looks like the majority of that look is due to the shader setup and not so much the textures used. Perhaps some kind of fresnel effect with very subtle tonal variation in the texture.

try to mix two grass textures with a noise texture (or some other procedural map), this is a very good way to break up large grass areas.

I do it exactly like Tom said...except that i usually have the tile settings a little different so that there appears to be some randomness in the scale of the grass.

If its one view don;t rule out camera mapping.

Yeah my grass pack might help you out. There is a few nice high res grass maps in there.
