    Yes, what i read is that MS is saying DX10 cannot be ported to any other OS because of drivers limitations in dealing with hardware components.

    Autodesk said they won't support it right away because videocard makers aren't yet fully developed with their drivers (particularly the "pro" lines).

    John Carmack dubbed the move from MS as plain forcible, a way to sell us all more of the same.

    I ran Vista in VMWare when it was beta, and stripping down all the bells and whistles, just turned the beast into a meeky nt4 sp3. look, feel and speed, as far as i was concerned.
    It all sat within 120 megs of Ram, and ran at near-full speed within the virtual machine.

    Reading the specs now make me cringe.
