  • proxies and scatter

Any chance that Vray will develop a "Scatter" like the one in max, that works with proxies. Just thought i would ask.

there's an easy workaround for this, create dummies to scatter and then replace them with your proxy. And for trees I use a script, from blur I guess, that does a random rotation.

oh, and to get the dummies on a terrain I use the script glue from Itoosoft.

It is a whole pack of scripts, for what I descriped above you need: RandomTransform.ms

There has been quite a few lengthy threads about this very subject (well proxies and scatter anyway).
A search would have given you instant answers

sorry about that....maybe with all the apparent interest in it, vray might find it in their hearts (and budget) to come up with a vray version so one doesn't have to resort to 3rd or 4th party work-arounds. (in a perfect world, of course).
